ResumeTidy stores account information, resume content (including optional photos), job applications and cover letters, finalized PDFs, credit transactions, and payment receipts to provide the service.

Free resume checks before signup

You can upload a PDF or DOCX without an account. We process it on our server for a content and format checklist; this check does not call an AI provider. The file is stored in private storage and linked through an opaque, HttpOnly cookie. The check is available for 24 hours. Expired uploads are cleared by routine cleanup and before subsequent checks. You can remove the current upload from the results screen. If you continue after signup or login in the same browser, the document is linked to your account and follows the account document retention rules below. No resume text is placed in URLs or browser local storage.

Free check and paid upload allowances

Two successful free upload checks are allowed per public IP address and browser/device (subject to usage already recorded). A private, HttpOnly device cookie lasts up to 400 days, subject to browser limits. This identifies a browser profile, not a physical device; clearing cookies or changing browsers affects detection. Shared Wi-Fi or mobile networks can share a public IP and therefore the free limit. Approved, unreversed credit packs include a separate ATS upload allowance: Starter 2, Job Hunt 6, Career 15. Checks are reserved while processing, used only on successful uploads, and are not restored by deleting a file or draft. Viewing a saved result, editing a draft, and signup continuation of the checked upload do not use another check.

To enforce these allowances we keep private keyed hashes of network and device identifiers, file fingerprints, request identifiers, usage status, and optional account identifiers. We do not store raw IP addresses or raw device cookie values in this quota ledger. Completed usage records are retained to enforce the two-check free offer and purchased allowances; they are separate from the 24-hour anonymous document storage and 90-day conversion attribution records. A saved anonymous result is available for up to 24 hours through the original check cookie.

Your documents

Resumes and receipts are private. Application routes require account authentication and check file ownership. Database files and documents are kept in a private directory outside the website root with restricted file permissions. HTTPS protects information in transit on the production site. These safeguards reduce exposure; no online service can promise absolute security. Account owners access their own documents. Authorized administrators review receipts and payment records.

Uploaded resumes and comparisons

Uploaded PDF and DOCX files, extracted text, imported fields, score snapshots, and Before / After comparisons are stored privately with your account. Document checks run on ResumeTidy and do not call an AI provider. Exact saved-file fingerprints recognize your own unchanged ResumeTidy PDF and preserve its recorded score. Other accounts cannot use that fingerprint to retrieve your file or saved score.

Archive keeps your resume and files available to restore. Delete removes the resume, original upload, AI drafts, comparison, export fingerprint, and saved PDF. File removal is retried if temporarily unavailable. Financial credit records remain; credits used for successful AI generations and PDF finalizations are not refunded. Revisions have independent file copies.

Job search tools

Job postings, application statuses, checklists, linked cover letters, follow-up dates, and interview answers you save remain private to your account. Career insights are calculated from your own application records. Job matching runs without an AI call. You can delete individual application records. Free export checks read the finalized PDF and Word documents on the server.

AI resume drafts

When you choose Generate with AI, Tailor with AI, Enhance my Resume, Generate cover letter, or Generate LinkedIn draft and agree to processing, your resume’s professional content, additional background, target job, and optional job description are sent to the configured external AI service after you agree. Your notes can be in English, Tagalog, or Taglish; AI is instructed to draft in English. The separate name, email, phone, city, and link fields are kept in ResumeTidy. Any personal details you include in free-text notes or professional sections will also be sent, so leave unnecessary personal information out.

AI drafts, cover letters, and LinkedIn originals are stored privately with your account so you can review and apply them. Resume drafts do not change your resume until you choose Apply to draft or Use enhanced resume. Saved AI content is deleted when its editable draft is deleted. Separate usage counters remain for rate limiting and are periodically removed after seven days. ResumeTidy requests that AI responses are not stored for later API retrieval. This does not guarantee zero retention by the external service; processing is subject to its policies.

Follow-up email notifications

Job Hunt and Career users can opt in to emails on the follow-up dates in their private application tracker. The reminder contains the company name, role, and follow-up date. Reminders can be turned off in Job Hunt settings. Email delivery depends on the hosting mail transport and scheduled worker.

Opt-in private resume sharing and public portfolios

Job Hunt users may create expiring password-protected share links for selected finalized PDF resumes and revoke them at any time. The random access tokens are stored only as hashes and share passwords are hashed. Anyone who has both the URL and password can download that selected PDF before expiration or revocation. Recipients may retain copies after downloading.

Career users can optionally publish a portfolio with only the public name, headline, description, self-confirmed skills, projects and external links that they enter. It remains private until explicitly published, and can be unpublished later. A downloadable resume is disabled by default and is only exposed when separately enabled; PDF resumes may include contact information. ResumeTidy does not independently verify skill claims.

Job application milestones and weekly reporting

Career users may save personal goals and opt in to emailed weekly activity reports. Weekly metrics come from application status transitions recorded by the tracker since the feature was introduced; older event histories cannot be reconstructed. Users can disable weekly email reports at any time.

Optional AI cover letter improvement

Job Hunt or Career users may opt in to submit their original cover letter and optional job description to the configured AI provider. Improvement uses one writing credit on successful completion and does not guarantee a job interview. Generated drafts are stored to retrieve the result; users should verify accuracy before sending.

Service providers

The production setup uses hosting, account authentication, database, storage, and email providers, plus the configured AI provider when you request an AI draft. The app does not automatically send your details to another AI provider if a request fails.

Analytics

Operational records may include signup, credit, payment, export, and AI request status events. We also measure completed resume checks, their recommendation group, continuation clicks, and whether a checked resume is linked to an account. After linking, we count approved AI changes and verified purchases to understand service use. These records contain a hashed check identifier and, when linked, internal account and draft identifiers; they contain no resume text, filenames, email addresses, or receipt images. Check attribution records are removed after 90 days during new checks or admin reporting. This does not extend the 24-hour availability of anonymous uploaded files.

Public-page measurements and search attribution

We collect coarse first-party page-view and action counts on published public pages, plus available loading, interaction, and layout-stability measurements. We do not collect search queries, full referrer URLs, URL query strings, document contents, or a persistent analytics visitor ID. A browser session-storage entry can keep the source category (search, referral, or direct), a published landing-page path, and its start time for up to 24 hours. If you register in that session, that category and landing path can be associated with your internal account ID to count registrations and verified, unreversed purchases. These optional measurements do not control account access, credits, or payment approval.

Public-page event totals and performance samples are retained for 30 days, and account acquisition records for 90 days, with routine cleanup. Performance sample identifiers distinguish measurements within a page load, not a persistent visitor. Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control signals disable browser collection and landing-source storage. Measurements stay with ResumeTidy; these first-party measurements do not go to Google Analytics or other third-party analytics. If you opt in separately, Meta Pixel can receive page URLs and conversion events (registration, resume started, export, checkout, and confirmed purchase amount in PHP) to measure Facebook ads. No name, email, phone, resume text, document, or payment credential is sent by our event code. Meta Pixel is disabled until you choose Allow ad measurement, and is unavailable when Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control is enabled. You may decline without affecting ResumeTidy. The choice is stored in your browser and can be changed anytime using the advertising measurement controls below. Public reports show aggregate counts only, inside the administrator account. Browser counts may be incomplete or inaccurate and are not official Google Search Console data.
